PurifyMind ("we", "us", or "our") is an accountability application that helps users in faith-based communities stay accountable through dignity-preserving monitoring. Our core privacy guarantee is that accountability partners never see which websites or domains you visit — they only see blocked content categories (such as "Adult Content" or "Gambling"), never specific URLs or browsing history.

This Privacy Policy describes how we collect, use, and share information about you when you use our mobile application and related services.

2. Information We Collect

Account Information

When you create an account, we collect your email address and display name. If you sign in with Google or Apple, we receive basic profile information (name and email) from those providers.

Push Notification Tokens

With your permission, we collect a Firebase Cloud Messaging (FCM) push notification token to send you accountability alerts. This token is associated with your account and device.

DNS Filtering Data (Categories Only)

PurifyMind uses NextDNS to filter your device's DNS requests. When a site is blocked, we receive the block event from NextDNS. We extract only the content category (e.g., "Adult Content", "Gambling", "Social Networks") and the timestamp. The actual domain name is never stored in our database.

Usage Data

We may collect basic usage information such as app opens and feature interactions to improve the application. This data is anonymized and not linked to individual browsing activity.

3. How We Use Your Information

• To create and manage your account
• To send push notifications to your accountability partners when blocked content is detected
• To display blocked content category summaries to your designated accountability partners
• To deliver accountability alerts to you from your partners
• To respond to your support requests
• To improve and maintain the application

4. Information Sharing

We do not sell your personal information. We share information only in the following limited circumstances:

With Your Accountability Partners

When you designate someone as an accountability partner, they can see:

• Your display name and profile picture
• Blocked content categories (never specific domains or URLs)
• The date and time of block events

Partners are never shown your browsing history, the specific websites you visited or attempted to visit, or any other personal data beyond what is listed above.

With Service Providers

We use the following third-party services to operate the app:

• Supabase — Authentication and database hosting (EU/US data centers)
• Firebase Cloud Messaging (FCM) — Push notification delivery (Google LLC)
• NextDNS — DNS filtering; only category metadata is passed to our servers, never full domains

Legal Requirements

We may disclose information if required by law, court order, or government authority, or to protect the rights, safety, or property of PurifyMind, our users, or the public.

5. Data Retention

• Account information is retained while your account is active
• Block event categories are retained for 30 days, then automatically deleted
• Push notification tokens are updated on each app launch and removed when you delete your account
• Upon account deletion, all personal data associated with your account is permanently removed within 30 days

6. Data Security

We implement industry-standard security measures including:

• Encrypted connections (TLS) for all data in transit
• Row-level security (RLS) on our database so users can only access their own data
• Service role keys restricted to our log processing service only
• No storage of browsing domains at any layer of the system

7. Your Rights and Choices

Account Deletion

You may delete your account at any time. Upon deletion, your personal data will be permanently removed from our systems within 30 days.

Notification Preferences

You can manage push notification permissions through your device settings at any time.

Access and Correction

You can view and update your profile information within the app. To request a copy of your data or correct inaccuracies, contact us at the address below.

8. Children's Privacy

PurifyMind is rated 17+ and is not intended for children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe we have inadvertently collected such information, please contact us immediately so we can delete it.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. We encourage you to review this policy periodically. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
